Meet Dr. Cochran
Dr. Kya Cochran
I'm a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a passion for helping people move, perform, and live with confidence.
I was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, as a military child and raised in Alabama. My journey eventually brought me to Georgia, where I graduated from Veterans High School in Kathleen. I continued my basketball career at Georgia Southwestern State University, where I graduated with a bachelor's in Exercise Science. I later coached AAU basketball and high school basketball at Perry High. My experiences as an athlete and coach taught me the importance of discipline, preparation, resilience, and taking care of your body.
My passion for helping others led me into healthcare, where I had the opportunity to work in the Heart and Vascular ICU at Emory University, Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas, and Middle Georgia Orthopedic's and Performance Physical Therapy in Georgia. I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Miami, and received a certification in Dry Needling.
Today, I bring my experiences as an athlete, coach, and clinician together through Cochran Performance & Mobility Services, with the goal of helping every individual move better, feel stronger, and confidently pursue the activities they love.
